    Site I have question about:
    http://www.hivhope.net/wordpress/
“The default WordPress theme based on the famous Kubrick.”

I’ve changed colors and images, but have a question about where in the css I find some specific font colors I want to change the color of. I can’t figure out which of the various #xyz .xyz and h3 etc type of this control the things below.

    1) Hello World – I want to change the color of both the base font, and the mouseover font

    2) The dates of the postings

    3) The text of the post itself

    4) Text of “posted in”

    5) Text of “Uncategorized | Edit | 1 Comment” both the base font, and the mouseover font

    6) And in the sidebar, the text for the two elements there (and do I change that in the css or do I change that in the sidebar area?)

    Sure appreciate the help!

  • I just looked at your site and the colours appear to be matched nicely – are there any answers above still needed?

Thanks for asking. I finally found them all by experimenting. Basically, I used a firefox plug in to figure out the color numbers of what I wanted to change, then I hunted through all the code to find the color number and change them. The site is now ready for my friend to start “populating” and he thinks it turned out great.

    Excellent!

    I’m guessing you used ColorZilla?
Another invaluable tool is the Web Developer Toolbar by Chris Pederick. Being able to change CSS on the fly (and more) makes things much easier and quicker.

You guessed right. And yes, I have the toolbar as well.

I almost fell out of my chair when I was told about that extension.. It is so insanely useful 🙂

As far as finding colors, I personally recommend my little (free) program:
