Under Users
This is an excellent question. I am using Firefox 1.5, and the API Key is *not* on my "My Account" pages, on Your Profile, or Users & Authors. Is there a way to get the welcome e-mail regenerated to get the API Key?
I can see my API perfectly when I click on Users
I'm glad that you can; unfortunately, I can't. Where is it on your Users page? I have, on the left side of the page:
Name, First Name, Last Name, Nickname, Display Name Publically As, About Yourself, Personal Options: Use the visual rich text editor.
On the right side of the page:
Contact info, Website, AIM, Yahoo IM, Jabber/Google Talk, the Update Your Password Box, and the update profile button.
That's it. No API key anywhere.
Im having the exact same problem!
Are you looking under your wordpress.COM account?
I experience problem. The key turned up fine on my old (dead) wordpress.com account when I updated my account details. Doesn't work with wordpress 2.0, it seems.
My bad. The answer is in this thread: you need a wordpress.com account for an API key.
I find the help in wordpress really rotten. I also cannot find the API key. Seems to me that when you sign up you ought to be sent it. I feel like I'm forced into playing a party game. Go here, then go there, etc, etc. If you require a password, just send it to people.
