Where on the dashboard can I see how many visitors my website had for a particular day?

  2. You need a tracking plugin, like wordpress.com stats, or google analyitcator.

I already have that but where can I see the hits in admin?

  4. Read the help for the plugin. There are a LOT of different ones, so you'll have to read how the one you picked works.

I see on the dashboard the GD star rating latest but it shows the hits for a few posts. What I want to see is all the hits for a particular day.

  7. That's a post rating plugin, not a stats tracker. Look on your plugins page to see which ones you've installed. You'll need to read up on them.

I did read and I couldn't see anything related to hits.

  9. Then you've not installed a plugin to track visits yet.

You have to install a plugin for that.

I suggest one of these (in no particular order):
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/woopra/
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/stats/
    http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/google-analyticator/

Please note that each of the three requires you to sign up on a secondary site.

Thanks for the info but I know that somewhere in the admin, we can see hits, I just don't know where

  11. You can't see 'hits' in the WordPress admin by default.

You must add a plugin to track that.

GD star rating, a plugin by the way, doesn't track 'hits', it tracks other things though, and if you want to include THAT on your admin page, read http://wordpress.org/extend/plugins/gd-star-rating/ for how it works.
