I’ve been using wordpress 1.2 and recently upgraded to the newest version of it. In the oldest version(1.2),
there was a template panel where I could add java script codes in order to embed media player on the side bar or
    a scroll down menu links.
After I upgraded to this newest version, there is this
“theme editor” panel with all these template files on the right side but WITHOUT “save” nor “EDIT and SAVE” buttons.
So even if I try to embed a media player on my blog,
there’s simply nothing I can do because there aren’t those buttons thus can’t add or save the java script codes.
Is this because I didn’t upgrade it properly?
    Please someone help me.

  • You should also see at the bottom of the edit window “if you had write permissions…”

Or something close ( don’t remember the exact phrase) You need to either go thru your CPanel via your host or via an FTP client, access the theme files, and chmod the files to 666. Once that is done your save button should appear.

    Thank you so much!
I followed your instruction and now I see the “update” button!
    Thank you again. 🙂
