  • You don’t need to alter the static pages you’ve already written, but rather the pages.php template file, if one exists.

If you go to Admin/Write/Page and scroll down to Page Templates dropdown box, you’ll see exactly what type of Page Templates you own.

If you want to change the look and feel of some elements on your pages you’ll need to open your Page.php (or, Default Template) or customized page template (Contact/Archive/etc..) you may have made and make the necessary changes there.

Hmmm…yeah. The theme I’m using, Benevolence, doesn’t appear to have a pages.php file. My manage page lists “Default Template” as the one being used, but I don’t know where to find that to edit it.

    If you go to http://tonyfleming.org/wordpress/?page_id=2

what I’m trying to get rid of is the title, date and “filed under” lines at the very top.

I’m also puzzled why this page isn’t being listed under “PAGES” in my sidebar. Any thoughts on that?

    Cheers,
    Tony

im not for sure what you are getting at.. but here is what i think is going on…

what you did to make that page is is write a post..
what you need to do is write a page. to edit your page you need to edit the new template file.

if you look on your admin section under write you will notice two selection. one being post and the other page. there is a differnce in the two. post is the post you make to certain categories and pages are well just pages.

yeah…knew that much. I wrote it as a page, which is why I’m confused it’s showing information normally associated with posts. Thanks for trying though.

edit the template file on you admin: presentation: editor.
