Where are my pages? (3 posts)

I asked previously about locating a database for a WP site created on my hard drive. But, in retrospect, I think this may have been the wrong question. What I'm trying to find out is where are my (static) pages for the site. It's my understanding a database works with a blog. I have no blog. The site is made up of only static pages -- which I thought were included in my wordpress folder. But, when I uploaded the site to my new host, it seems only wordpress is there -- not the site I actually created. Oddly, it seems from glancing through the folders that uploaded, the images I've added to the media library when creating pages are all there, and so is the theme.

On my hard drive (Windows 7 OS), I open the site using WebMatrix, which provides an address of http://localhost19217 that I click on to view and work with the site. Where is that on the hard drive -- and/or how do I find its contents?

Basically, how do I find the pages I created and upload them to my host's server/my url? (I have File Zilla set up and working fine -- it transferred the wordpress file I thought contained everything with no problems.)

Any info will be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

Your pages are located in your database, not in the file system. WebMatrix should allow you to export your database and then you can import that via phpMyAdmin through your hosting control panel.

Another way to do it would be to login to your WebMatrix installation and go to "Tools-->Export" and export your content (which includes pages). Then in your live site, go to "Tools-->Import-->WordPress" and import that file.
