   Where are media uploads stored? I cannot for the life of me find them in the database. I have changed URLs and now all the images are broken.

   The actual media is in the Store uploads in this folder setting as specified in Administration > Settings > Miscellaneous.

   Also, the Organize my uploads into month- and year-based folders could impact the final 'resting' place for the media.

   Also note the database (e.g.wp_posts table) contains an attachment record with information about each media.
