I had a large number of widgets available through the dashboard when I first downleaded and used WordPress. But after I installed it on Hostica, I now only have 12 available. How can I download the full set of widgets into WordPress?

Each theme come up with its own set of widgets. Additionally you can find/add via plug-ins as per your requirement.

    Few are given below:

But as I said earlier, I had many more widgets when I first downloaded WordPress, and it’s only when I installed it in Hostica (so that I can publish it) that I lost most of the widgets. And by the way, many other elements of WordPress (in Settings) have also gone missing. I just don’t understand why the WordPress downloaded from WordPress.org is different to the one that can be installed in Hostica.

Maybe Hostica has customized their own WP installation with additional widgets.

Without knowing exactly which options are missing, that can sometimes be an indicator that your WordPress user account may not have full administrative privileges. A little more information may help sort it out – or a quick contact with your hosts support group might help to explain the odd behaviour.
