When setting a specific page to display blog-how to add code to the blog page

    I have a static home page and selected my FAQ page to display my posts. I want to add a list of the posts at the top of the page so that it looks like an anchor tag list. Where do I insert my post query and what is the syntax for displaying a simple list that links to the various posts?
