   Hello,

   Since I have upgraded to WordPress 3.1 I have noticed something which is happening intermittently.

   If I am writing a post, it will autosave, no problem there. But I will continue writing, then click publish and it will publish the version which has been autosaved, and not the one I have just finished writing.

   This has happened 6 or 7 times now, it wasnt just a one-off. It is very apparent because if I am writing a post with an image I always write the text first and then add the image last. I did that with a post today, and it published some of the text (I imagine upto the point it autosaved) and not the image. Also the text which went live was in mid-sentence, I assume where it autosaved. going back to the post I see the image is in the gallery so there was no problem there.

   Does anyone have any ideas on why this is happening or how I can fix it?
   I use the visual editor to write posts.

   Have you tried:

   - checking through Troubleshooting WordPress 3.1 - Master List

   - deactivating all plugins to see if this resolves the problem. If this works, re-activate the plugins one by one until you find the problematic plugin(s).

   - switching to the Twenty Ten theme to rule out any theme-specific problems.

   - resetting the plugins folder by FTP or PhpMyAdmin. Sometimes, an apparently inactive plugin can still cause problems.

   Hello Esmi,

   Thanks for replying. I have not tried to deactivated my plugins yet as the problem I am having only seems to happen now and again, its very weird, it would be hard to tell if it fixed it or not. I just did a test and it seemed to work, but like I say this does keep happening. I have removed all inactive plugins (deleted), I did read the master list but it doesnt highlight the problem I have and I searched but nobody else seems to have reported it.

   I will remove the plugins which arent crucial to see if that helps, and reset the plugin folder but like I said its quite intermittent so I will not know if it works until it happens again (or doesnt).
