Support » Plugin: Content Filter - Censor All Offensive Content From Your Site » When I try to edit the settings I am told I don't have sufficient permissions

  • Hello,

I’ve downloaded the latest version of the plugin. It installs and activates okay, but when I go to access the settings I get this message:

“You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

I have admin rights to the page, so I’m not sure what I’m doing wrong?

    Thanks a lot,
    David

    Hi David,

The plugin doesn’t specifically block access to the settings page itself. It just uses the built in permissions checks in the Settings API.

I’m not sure what could be causing the issue. Are you on a normal WP site, or multisite? Have you tried temporarily disabling all other plugins, and also reverting your theme back to the default? Does this make a difference? If not can you create a temporary new admin user and see if they can access plugin settings etc?

    Thanks for the reply David.

Unfortunately the plugin is on a live site (normal WP not multisite) so I can’t disable the plugins or revert to default theme.

I tried creating a temporary admin but they still don’t have access to the settings.

Is there any way to edit the plugin files to drop a list of profanities straight into the plugin rather than through the settings?

    Thanks a lot,
    David

You can try adding a comma separated list of words in the $db_search_string variable.

Thanks a lot for your support David, very helpful!

We ended up finding the problem, it was the super admin that needed to update the settings, all the other admins didn’t have high enough permissions.

    Thanks again

    Glad you got it sorted!
