• hi,
i am using windows vista with easyphp installed. I use dreamweaver cs3 to edit documents. The problem i am facing is that when i edit files in the root folder i.e www folder, a message appears that the file cannot be saved.
So i have to copy those files on some other place edit them and then paste into the www folder. Due to this i cannot edit php files and see results in the browser in the real time.

    help me please!!

You cannot do that anyway. And Dreamweaver does not work with WordPress. WordPress is a dynamic site management system, Dreamweaver is a static content editor. They don’t do the same things and they don’t work together.

i can edit the wordpress php files in dreamweaver cs3. ok if this is not the solutinon how should i edit my wordpress files, when i edit the wordpress files likfe header footer in my wordpress dashboard same thing happens and the files are not saved.

So whats the solutin to this. How should i edit my wordpress files?

If you’re using Windows you also open and edit php files in Notepad or Wordpad (not Word). You can also find a list of text editors on the Codex Glossary page. WebTide, for example, can be downloaded for free, and is compatible with Windows, Linux (if you’re hosting is on it), etc.

Maybe your files aren’t being read properly in WordPress because of the hidden coding they were created with. Anything you’re writing in Windows to post online (not just WordPress) should be written in plain text. As an example, if you paste into a wysiwyg online and switch over to html view, you can sometimes see messed up code there.
