when I add links, the post doesn't show up. Reinstall? (14 posts)

I've been having problems, and I've even posted before. When I add links or photos to an entry i want to post and click PUBLISH it sends me to my home page and it doesn't make the post. I can only post with pure text.

I've had this problem for a while and hoped when i would upgrade to 2.8 it would get fixed but the problem still exists.
is it possible for me to reinstall wordpress but keep all of my pages and posts?
    thanks,

    Hi,

Have a check with these options:

    - Disable all plugins
    - change the theme to default one
    - Redo the upgrade and upgrade wordpress manually.

    Thanks,

    Shane G.

the problem is I can't upgrade it manually because it says "No Upgrade Required

Your WordPress database is already up-to-date!"

someone please help, this is extremely frustrating

Start by disabling all plugins and see if that resolves the problem.

There could still be a plugin causing a problem even though it's been "deactivated" (been there - seen it). So try renaming the plugins folder via FTP.

Backup your files and database first. See WordPress Backups.

Then, download and extract to your local machine, the WordPress distribution from the Download tab at the top of this page. Then on your host delete and reupoad the WordPress folders, wp-admin and wp-includes. Make sure you are using ASCII file transfer mode in your FTP client.
