• Was very pleased to find a plugin that did just what I wanted and worked straight out of the box.

BUT… then the author goes and screws it up by inserting unannounced ads after the email has been sent.

It’s ruined what would be a perfectly good plugin. Thanks.

I’m not a plugin user but where are the ads located?

    User clicks button
    Lightbox appears
User enters To Email, From Email and Message
    Clicks Send
    Ads appear

There is no warning within WordPress.org or in the Settings (as far as I have seen). Not cool.

I installed it and see what you mean. After the user submitted the page for email their is an iframe inserted into that box with this code.

    As well as an ad.

On top of the ads that benefit the plugin author the email generated does not point to the post that you emailed about, It contains links like these two.

I know this is software as a service but that really seems to be a bit much. All this plugin does is provide a popup link for emailing people about a post. That email doesn’t contain much and that tracking and ads are IMHO over the top.

Yeah, like I said, not cool.

Caveat emptor (even though it’s free).

    Caveat plugin guidelines.

No, the ads are not okay. Ads are not permitted unless you, as the plugin installer, opt in.
