[resolved] What's the word on using iframes? (9 posts)

    I have one site where I've put amazon ads in iframe format without issue into sidebar widgets.

    On my new site I cannot. It just disappears.

    I've read lots of "fixes" for this and tried some (like editing my functon.php which killed my site).

    What't the general consensus around here for dealing with them?
    Why do they work on one site and not another?

    Have you registered your new site with your ad code provider?

    My google ads are getting stripped too. Not the whole thing just
    <script type="text/javascript">
    and
    </script>

    Most likely - the generated code is generally site specific - review that also.

    I use amazon and google on several different sites and they do not require specific codes. With Amazon you can make them but it is for your won reference not theirs. All you need to do is add it to you assicated websites.

    With google once you've been approved you do not need to give new listings. They say they will detect your new site.

    Both require the correct snippets to be found in the source code?

    Found the solution. I found this post http://wordpress.org/support/topic/text-widget-is-stripping-out-parts-of-code?replies=7

    I'm using a multisite and was logged in as a blog admin, however only super admins can add those kinds of codes. When I logged in as SA everything worked find.

    Thanks SwansonPhotos for tying to help me sort this out.
