Whats the point in having tags visible to other readers?

    As you can see on http://www.michaeljackson.no
    I’m using a theme that has tags not only visible to other users, but it has an own background color too. Whats the point of this?

    Does anyone think tags are nice to look at? Cause I think it’s messing the design up, and confuses the reader. Why should I keep this?

    Your visitors can use the tag links to view lists of posts with the same tags. Think of it as a more finely-grained alternative to post categories.

    Well that sucks. If that’s all they do then I’m gonna delete them.

    I thought it was some smartass shit, like if tags were visible, Google would index them in another way or something, compared to invisible metatags.

    It’s basically a div…. theres no tags in it at all, other than the headline of the site.
