I want to use WordPress to upload images, but I would like a plugin to create thumnails on the fly without using a gallery . There are so many image plugins I do not know which one to use. Since WP did not make a recommendation, can anyone give me a recommendation based on their previous experience. I am considering using an alternative such as Pivot, Greymatter or a photoblog such as Pixelpost if there is nothing available. Advices? Please, Thank you.

If you mean thumbnails to include in post then I use this one and love it.

Thank you Bhoney that looks great. frdrk, you are right, WP 2.o has thumbnails built in. Does 1.5.2 have the same feature? Perhaps I overlooked something. Thank you.

Yep, I use 1.5 and it let's me chose if i want thumbnail when i upload i photo from the upload tab. Works fab, If I recall correctly I even hacked the upload file to allow me more flexibility with the thumbnails it creates.

Come to think of it, i think automatic thumbnail creation requires a specific apache (or other webserver) package to be installed. If your server doesn't have that, that service may be disabled.

1.5.2 did not create thumbnails. It allows you to hot link to images on other peoples sites. It did not allow me to insert an image from my own site, so I had to upload an image to another site I have and then insert it.
