• I have hosted with dozens of companies over the last decade as I run a interactive marketing agency. In my hosting history I have never experienced as much down time, lack of accountability, and unprofessional handling of situations as I have in my time with Media Temple.

This is not a rant against Media Temple, just a simple explanation of what you can expect.

I currently have over 50 sites hosted on Media Temple. During the last 6 months I experienced consistent network latency during peak hours. Media Temple refused to acknowledge the problem, even though my engineers provided proof of it.

Last week, the network latency increased to the point where Media Temple went completely off line for almost 2 days. During this time I lost most of my email, and all visitors to my sites received 403 errors. Real good business. This also crashed my search engine rankings.

This weekend latency picked up again and dropped my sites offline 16 times over the weekend according to my Pingdom uptime reports. Monday the sites went offline for good, and as of now, 10:42 am Tuesday, all my sites, email, and ftp, are still offline showing 403 errors.

Media Temples response is to not answer the phone. I have been on hold for 2 hours and 20 minutes right now, with no answer yet.

Despite the vast amount of work it is going to cost my team to migrate to another hosting provider we have no choice. In my 10 years running an interactive agency they have been the least reliable, and accountable, hosting company I have encountered.

I am strongly disappointed in the team at wordpress to recognize Media Temple as a recommended hosting provider.
