• Looking for a bit of advice..

What sort of website would you class this as? Dogwalkingnow . co . uk?

Basically, you can be a free member or a paid member, as a free member you can have an account to look at jobs, but cannot advertise your services on the directory or reply to requests, as a paid member you can post your services, respond to requests for help from the public (jobs advertised) and basically interact as much as you like with others on here. All people wanting a walker can contact whoever they like free of charge so long as they have an account.

Subscriptions would run on a weekly, monthly or yearly basis and be paid via paypal.

I wouldn’t call this a classifieds site, or is it? What sort of plugin would I need to operate a site based on this concept and are there any free (or cheap) ones out there? Sorry for my ignorance!

    Thanks!

Sorry but do you have a WordPress support question…? This really isn’t the place to solicit questions about random sites on the Internet. 😉

I would consider it as a WordPress support question, because I’d like to build a site with a similar concept to this using WordPress, but every time I’ve tried so far I’ve found the wordpress directory unstructured (no menu, just a search bar!) and just can’t get my head around wordpress in general. It seems far more complicated than Joomla… hence asking for help on where to start.

See the above for setting up your site.

For additional functionality, you’ll need to use multiple plugins – probably a membership plugin, possibly a forum. Searching the plugins will find various options –

    Possibly http://bbpress.org/
