What need I do to use a clip from iMovie on my WordPress site? (3 posts)

I know this is an elementary question, but trust me I've spent several hours looking for an answer I can understand.

I want to stream some video in some of my posts. I'd prefer to have a "video player" set up rather than simply use a link to a url (which I understand has the viewer use a local program on his or her own computer.)

I am using iMovie 08 (and also own iMovie 09).

I understand that I will have to convert or export from the iMovie format and that the goal is an .flv file.

iMovie will not convert to .flv directly.

So, would someone be so kind as to tell me how to get from the original iMovie to .flv and what programs, on a Mac, will best do it?

Once I have it converted should I use a plugin? And, if so, which one?

Thanks again. I know this may seem a simple question, but it's tough for me.

I think I am having the same problem with imovie 08. It gives me an error message when i try to export a project as an .flv (flash video). if imovie 08 does not support this option then i wonder why apple included it as an option???.

Please let me know if you figure this one out. I will let you know what I find out.

Not sure if this helps but i am using the the smart-youtube plugin to I add a video to my blog. If you put your videos up on youtube, which is pretty easy to do, you can then just use this plugin and it will just pull the video out of youtube and stick it on your site. This link has a download button and installation and usage instructions.

Let me know if you figure out how to export imovie projects as flash videos... i am beginning to think it is impossible.
