When I use view source in my browser I see this at the top of my home page:
<head profile="http://gmpg.org/xfn/11">
What is it and why is it there? I don't see how it could be related to any of my plugins, but I'm not very savvy about this stuff.
Thanks.

If you go to the URL, you'll see that it's this: http://gmpg.org/xfn/
If you want, you can safely delete it from near the top of your header.php file, but replace it with <head>.
Ok that is all well and good but what is it there for, what does it do and what is its purpose?
It's just an XFN profile link. It's used to identify the version of the XFN relationships meta data profile in use by your theme. In this case, it's v1.1.
