What is the best plugin for a Bilingual Site with these features? (5 posts)

    Hi!

I want to run a bilingual site in both English and my native language, Sinhala.

I have read some articles online but still I'm confused of the best way to implement this.

In my ideal site, the user would be able to change between the two languages. Commenting should be available in both languages, and translation is not required there. However, both language versions of the post should have the same comments.

Is this possible? If so what plugins should I use? (FYI WordPress is available in Sinhala)

    I don't want a multi-site installation. And I can't afford to pay for WMPL.

All help is very much appreciated.

    Thank you.

    Maybe one of these:

Thank You so much, I've already checked it out.

I'd like to hear from someone who has used these plug-ins of whether they are relevant, before diving straight in.

both language versions of the post should have the same comments.

I don't think this is possible with any of the plugins, but I'm not sure.

Both plugins polylang and xili-language will do all the rest of your requirements.

In any case, installing a multilingual plugin is a big change for any site. It would be a good idea to first create a test site and verify that everything works correctly between all the required plugins and the theme and only then install. Since any multilingual plugin changes the database significantly, doing a database backup is required before experimenting.
