   Can somebody tell me what is the "add new custom field" option?

   Yeah, WordPress gives you the option of adding custom fields. You don't have to, but some people find it useful. If you have a set of criteria you want to show on a regular basis, you can do so using custom fields. Example:

   Mood: Happy
   Listening to: John Mayer

   You'd add the custom field "mood" or "Listening to", then answer them in each post.
