   Hi,

   I am trying to customize a new WP site on my local system before I take it live. I am noticing a lot of <?php _e('various text'); ?>

   What are those about ? Is there a reason I sould use that instead of just writing in HTML ?

   I searched the Codex but couldn't find the right page.

   It's really only useful to theme and plugin makers that want their project to be able to be displayed in other languages.
