   Sorry if this is somewhere, I tried a search and can't find it, but could be using incorrect search string.

   When is the anticipated final release timeframe for WP 3.0? This fall? I just want to know to be able to prep my clients if any major changes happen. Will this affect all templates in use also?

   according to roadmap http://wordpress.org/about/roadmap/ 3.0 should be released in may 2010, so now it is late :)

   the best answer is: wordpress 3.0 will be released when this list of bugs http://core.trac.wordpress.org/report/5 will be empty :)

   End of June, maybe July at the outside. :) But RC2 is out and you can test with it now. it's Mostly Stable.

   Also, it won't break your existing themes/templates. They'll just lack the 'new features.' :)

   @kkarpieszuk and @Ipstenu thank u so much for your answers. Good to know about templates.. that was really my main concern. Looking forward to final, stable release :)

   The WordPress Codex says it will be released today. http://codex.wordpress.org/Version_3.0
