   I lost many components of my Dashboard including Settings, Plugins, Appearance.... I changed Plugins to PluginsX in FileZilla but don't know what to do next. If I reinstall WordPress, will I get my Dashboard back and still keep everything I've done to my site (which is a lot.)?

   Definitely. Re-install means is like a fresh install so you get everything by default

   If you reinstall you will loose your content as the database will overwritten so try replace all wordpress files and folders
   except wp-content folder and wp-config.php

   Thanks Richard, your message was unclear so I didn't reinstall.

   Thanks Gov and other helpers, can I ask you if my thought on how to do that is correct?

   I downloaded wordpress and unzipped it in a new folder. There are three folders and several files. The folders are wp-admin, wp-content and wp-includes. Should I upload wp-admin and wp-includes through FileZilla and overwrite the files there? What about the other files, not in those two folders?

   Appreciate your help all!

   You replace all files and folders except wp-content folder which has your plugin,themes and uploads and wp-config.php

   Save these folders i-e wp-content and the file wp-config.php on your computer and when you install wordpress again,then replace them by your existing folder and file.
