What Happened To Quicktags Spell Button

    After upgrading to 3.6 I found that the Spell Button in Quicktags has been removed. What happened? I still want to use it. Is there some other equivalent feature?

    I restored my 3.52 Quicktags, and it restored my other customizations, but it did not restore the Spell Button.

    [Note: I actually had redirected it to a thesaurus and it was very helpful when composing new posts]

    This functionality has been removed from WordPress itself. Try looking for a spell check plugin instead.

    Thanks for your response. But the Quicktags are still part of WordPress. Shouldn’t I be able to insert a button that does the same thing?

    No. That particular quicktag linked to a very specific core javascript that has now been removed. Adding the button back will not restore that script.
