   Starting 9/4 whenever I try to do a Preview of a post I get a page with "Sorry, no posts matched your criteria." Prior to 9/4 Preview functioned perfectly. No changes to code. Today I saw msg about hackers so I upgraded to 2.8.4. Preview still does not do what it should. Any ideas?

   This is a problem I ssee a lot lately, I myself encountered it on one of the sites ...
   I do not know exactly what is causing it , but it happenes only with recent wordpress releases , on some server configurations.
   you should anyhow check and update your permalink structure , and check the .httaccess file on the server, it might help ...

   I think it has to do with cookies. Check with a different browser like Firefox.

   I ,for one, am using firefox 3 as major browser (and FF 3.5 , IE 6,7,8 opera 8,9 chrome and seamonkey - all just for testing purposes) - and I must say that this problem persist on ALL browsers.
   If dgrafues will change his permalink structure to default (@dgrafues -please verify) , I am almost sure his previews will appear again ..
   Maybe its some new bug ...

   Unfortunately setting permalink structure to default made no difference. Still get "Sorry...". Anyhow, I appreciate your aid. I will employ a work-around (wirte post in notepad, save as html and view in browser). Not a convenient method but at least I get to see the message and catch errors.

   If you set permalink to default, and LATER create a new post, Is that not working ??

   No it does not solve the problem. Here is what I did...
   opened WP
   set permalinks to defaut
   saved
   closed browser window (just in case that helped)
   opened browser window
   created post (saw that permalinks was default)
   tried "Preview" got "Sorry..." msg
   saved post as draft
   tried "Preview" got "Sorry..."
   clicked on "View Post" @ top of window and got "Sorry..."
   I tried logging out of wp thinking maybe if I logged in afresh it would work. Now I cannot log out... I get "You are attempting to log out... Please try again"

   I appreciate you taking the time to help me. I am an author, not a code (especially php) expert.

   UPDATE
   I finally was able to log out of WP. when I came back in the Preview feature is back. Preview works with permalink format other than the default. THANKS AGAIN!!!
