My account has disappeared. It doesn't recognize my username (i created a new account with the same username). But i can't access my site as its not connected. There is only a forgot password option which requires a username and no option to look up username.
There was a similar post 8 months ago that never got answered.
Your account where? Here on the forums? On your self-hosted WordPress site? Somewhere else?

On wordpress.org. I have a self-hosted site but the problems is on the wordpress site. I was looking for themes and there is a login option at the top and that is where I tried to login. It appears that is the same login for forums. It's not critical as I as most of my blogs are self-hosted but I don't like having access to my wordpress.com blog. http://disruptiveleadership.wordpress.com/
