I tried to hit up http://codex.wordpress.org/ and I just get the WP front page. If I try to visit say: http://codex.wordpress.org/Template_Tags I get a 404 - what happened to Codex??

Yeah, I'm wondering the same thing. I was going to upgrade, but I can't get to the instructions now that I have time. Grrr.
Codex will be back soon. There was a combination of a database issue and it was being crawled to the point where it was killing the server that it was on (this one).
Missychele, the upgrade instructions from v1.2.x to v1.5 are based off of Podz' tutorial:
Thanks, Macmanx;-)
Glad to be of service, though I still wish the Codex was back.
Thought my eyes (or my browsers) were playing tricks on me. So it is true that codex.wordpress.org gets you rerouted to wordpress.org
I neeeeeed the codex! :)
Any reason you're not redirecting to a page which explains that the WordPress documentation is down and gives an estimate of when it will be back up? People who just downloaded WordPress for the first time will have a hard time installing it with no instructions.
If you really need to view the upgrade instructions, then checkout google's cached version of the page at http://216.239.59.104/search?q=cache:Lyq7Q1clv68J:codex.wordpress.org/Upgrading_WordPress
Oh and it was "retrieved on 25 Feb 2005 03:43:59 GMT."
I am also in the weekend-upgrade-business, so: life without Codex is stale ...--just kidding, or, just a way to say 'thank you' to the people working on the Codex: we need you, appreciate your engagement!
It doesn't just 404, it redirects to http://wordpress.org/.
I got lots of work to do on the Codex this weekend, among 4000 other things, so let us all know when it is back and running.
Ditto on the Saturday upgrade (1.2 -> 1.5). I got it up with the default style and nothing looks too horrible, so I think I'll wait before I start fooling with themes. Time for a nice nap.
I don't know if this is associated with the Codex problems but the Nightly Builds are unavailable too.
Those of your looking for documentation, you may get lucky with the default documentation:
http://wordpress.org/docs/
Those of you looking to upgrade from WP v1.2.x to WP v1.5 (including upgrading your v1.2.x template to a v1.5 theme), should read Podz' tutorial. The Codex upgrade instructions are based off of his:

Wow the google cache idea works! Cheers!
I can get pretty much any page I need this way :)
bump
It looks like it's on the mend. ...at least it isn't redirecting to wordpress.org anymore.
Don't know about you guys, but I've been getting some version of this for hours.
