[resolved] What gives with WordPress 2.3 switching themes on its own? (3 posts)

Ever since upgrading to WordPress 2.3 my site at spicycauldron.com keeps switching from my preferred template (RockinBizRed) to the default one. There's no obvious trigger.

The change-over appears to be totally random, occurring when I'm not even near a computer, let alone accessing the administrative interface. But when it happens I go to the 'Presentation' tab and it confirms that the theme has switched. All I have to do to get back to the correct one is to select it as normal.

I can only surmise for the time being that it happens when people leave comments. Or it just happens without anything going on at the time in terms of database access.

    Any ideas anyone?

Odds are, you'll find the trigger in your web server's error log.

WordPress will switch to the Default theme when it detects an error or something missing in your current theme. Hopefully, those errors will be in your logs to check out.

Thank you, and I'm sorry it took me a while to get back here. In the end I found it was the theme I was using, and some tweaking of it after doing a bit of research made it compatible.
