What files need to be uploaded for UPGRADES?

    Hey Folks.

    I believe im in 2.0.11 http://www.PUMATALK.com/blog

    anyways I need to upgrade to the latest and I was reading the “readme” file but im not sure what files need to be uploaded and what files shouldn’t be touched, for exasmple the config file as it has all my database log in/pass info.

    Before you upgrade anything, make sure you have backup copies of any files you may have modified such as index.php.
Upgrading from any previous WordPress to 2.7:

   1. Delete your old WP files, saving ones you've modified.
   2. Upload the new files.
   3. Point your browser to /wp-admin/upgrade.php.
   4. You wanted more, perhaps? That's it!

    as a general rule – don’t mess with .htaccess or wp-config.php or anything in the /wp-content folder

    going from that old of a version you might want to consider an incremental upgrade
    2.2 -> 2.3 -> 2.5 -> 2.71

    Hey Sam.

    That’s the thing – im not sure which version i have.. i think it might be 2.5 – how can i double check?

    look in your source:

    <meta name="generator" content="WordPress 2.0.4" /> <!-- leave this for stats -->

    look at the 2.0.4 at the bottom of your admin area.

    you, btw, in opposition to samboll’s advice, will need to make several changes to your wp-config.php and you will need to upgrade both the classic and default themes.

    Hey folks!

    I just upgrade to 2.7

    All is good, i went from 2.0 to 2.2 to 2.3 to 2.5 to finally 2.71

    Only problem Im having is the styling on safari browser (mac) when viewing the admin.

    What can I do to fix the style?
