What exactly is 'WP_MEMORY_LIMIT'? (3 posts)

I found the solution to my problem on another thread here, regarding error when trying to upgrade automatically to the latest WordPress version. It was that to increase the memory limit in the wp-settings.php file, from 32M to 64M. Fantastic, it worked for me, and all is swell.

But, what exactly does this matter to my website, as such? Does it have anything to do with loading time or anything else that the end user might notice? Or is it just a matter of background activity that nobody notices?

    I'm just curious.

    Best regards!

no one notices unless you run out of php memory - which is doubtful at 64M
