I have seen "var/sites/n" used before but today I had a warning from a security plugin telling me to move .htaccess to:

    var/sites/n/mysite.co.uk/public_html/etc..

    Thanks

That's the directory of your website. You shouldn't let users see that error.

    OK thank you.

The alert only appears in the backed so it's only visible to me. I am still interested to know whatnot var/sites/n represents. I thought my site root was public_html and now it seems the full path goes deeper.

When I searched on this I couldn't find an explanation but did assume that plenty of other people will see the exact same thing. So, I guess this as something to do with the way the server software organises things?

    Thanks

    Martin
