Botnet Attack Blocker
[resolved] what does the attacker "see"? (4 posts)

My question is simple. When the site is in lockdown, what to potential hackers see or what error do they receive? I realize most are bots and don't actually "see" anything, but what happens when they hit the login?

The English version of the error message is:

Too many login failures, you are temporarily blocked

If you visit the login page when the site is locked down it shows this message only and loads literally nothing else (i.e. no login form etc.).

    Hope that helps!

Yes, it does. I was just curious. I installed this earlier today and it seems to be working, but I can see hits in the site logs, so I was wondering what happens during the lock down.

The login attempts can really load the server down, even if they are unsuccessful. I'm curious if the "too many login failures" page is somehow optimized to reduce load on the server (if that is even possible)
