what are the disadvantage of removing theme footer credits

    greeting friends,
    what are the advantages and disadvantages of removing footer credits like power by wordpress and the theme name?

    There are no disadvantages. It’s just simply a way of “thanking” both the WP core and theme developers by giving them a link back.

    I prefer to use a separate Credits page, or a Credits section at the end of an About page, with a custom menu in the footer linking to things like Privacy and Credits.

    That’s not a problem. WordPress itself doesn’t apply any limitations on removing credit links in the footer of a site. Neither should any theme from http://wordpress.org/themes/
