What are the advantages of the hosted version?

    I have a WordPress.com free blog site, and I just started a companion WordPress hosted site. Since I am new to all of this, I would like to know the main advantages of the hosted version?

    You can add and change themes and plugins at will. You can mod or hack templates or core files (not recommended) plus other stuff that is restricted for obvious reasons on wp.com.
