Weird problem with editor disappearing

    I hope someone might help me.

    I have a strange problem… I log in, click on “write post” and after about 5 seconds, the page disappears to a blank page with a set of html buttons at the top [b] [i] [link] [b-quote] etc….

    WTF ???

    I have un-installed all plugins.

    I have installed the fckeditor plugin to see if this might overcome whatever issue the editor is experiencing but no luck (this is the editor I installed – http://www.deanlee.cn/wordpress/fckeditor-for-wordpress-plugin/)

    I ‘ve trawled thru the forums and can’t find any post similar to mine….

    What to do now? Please help!

    Have you tried:

    – switching to the default theme to rule out any theme-related problems.

    – renaming the plugins folder via FTP

    Thanks for your reply.

    I have tried both of your suggestions but it has not solved the problem.

    I am beginning to think that I should upgrade to the latest version? Unfortunately, I have a custom site that someone else programmed for me, so I am not sure what files would need to be kept!

    Before I try the upgrade – do you have any other suggestions?

    Has anyone else ever had this problem?

    I now get the same thing regardless of which admin link I click – the page disappears to a blank page with a set of html buttons after about 3-5 seconds!

    Very strange!
    Could it be a javascript conflict somewhere maybe?
