Weird margin beside images in IE, not in FF (7 posts)

    When I started to learn CSS, I debugged the code in IE. Now I'm debugging both in FF and IE and having problems already. In IE, there seems to be some empty space in left and right side of navigation rollover images. Code works with Firefox.

    I suggest you explain about this issue in a CSS experts forum. This needs experience with IE hacks. Try:

    css-discuss.incutio.com

    or newsgroup:

    comp.infosystems.www.authoring.stylesheets

    Perhaps I am wrong and there are some CSS gurus in this WP forum too.

    Now I could be wrong, but you are using imagery for your buttons? In your CSS you are declaring Block display around ALL images.

    img {
    border: 0;
    display: block;
    }

    It might be that simple. take that out...display: block;

    Darcie, removing that {display: block;} only adds some white lines after banner and before content area and still those mysterious gaps remain...still working on...

    Btw. Merry Christmas to everyone!

    OK folks, I just managed to solve the problem for IE, thanks to Sam_a links. BUT now I'm facing problem with Firefox, .navi img {margin: 0 -3px;}

    How can I apply this code to appear only in IE?

    I solved the problem today, solution was vertical-alignment property.

    .navi img {
    display: inline;
    vertical-align: bottom;
    }
