Weird "GET" in URL. Results in 404 error pages (6 posts)

    On a web site I am helping on we are seeing an interesting set of links being recorded using "Counterize" for some basic stats information.

    We are seeing referrer links like this:

    http://www.ghuth.com/2005/08/05/scotopic-and-photopic-vision/++GET+http://www.ghuth.com/2005/08/05/scotopic-and-photopic-vision/+%5B0,17070,30518%5D+-%3E

    What I see in this URL is the addition of "++GET+http://www....." at the end of what should be the correct URL.

    Does anyone know what could be causing this irregularity? Reason being is that the person getting to the web site is getting a 404 not found page and not the content they are after.

    Let me know if you have any questions that may help in a solution.

    Thanks.

    Looks like someone did a search and then clicked the search link generated to their specific request.

    An aside. Your 404 page should really give out some info - even a site map would be a great help to keeping them at your site.

    I have updated the 404 page to be a bit more helpful.

    However, on a search results page there is no "search link" generated for them to click on.

    I am still at a loss to explain the ++GET+ and duplicate link showing up.

    Can anyone point me in a direction to find the root cause?

    Thanks

    I notice that the XML Sitemap Generator for WordPress 3.0.3.1 is using the GET command, not sure whether it is related or not.

    I don't think it is. I don't have that running on the blog with this issue.

    I agree, i have try removing them, and the weird get++ is around, and it is only on certain post.

    Berchman, would it be ok that you list down plugin that you use, and we compare ours diagnose which is the one?

    Is there anyone know what could be the problem?
