• This morning when I logged in, my dashboard was a mess, containing :

WordPress database error: [UPDATE command denied to user ‘user1169322’@’64.224.109.41’ for table ‘wp_options’]
    UPDATE wp_options SET option_value =

and a lot of cruft everywhere following.

It looks like this has something to do with my MYSQL login, but I don’t recall doing anything yesterday that would have caused this.

    So is my database screwed?

  • are you, by chance, hosted here?

    http://www.interland.com/

and when you say dashboard, are you specifically refering to the page that contains the the feed excepts, and the info on the right hand side about post count, comments, recent posts etc..

And you said cruft, what exactly is it that you saw?

and boy, it sure would be nice to know what version of WP you are using — you missed the little box that there when you post here that lets you tell us.

Yes! I am hosted at Interland. What’s going on?

    I have 1.5.

The whole database seems to be locked. Every time I try to do something (post, edit — although delete seems to work) I get a similar error and a whole lot of spew – regurgitating old posts and stuff.

I was going to move the site anyway soon to a new provider and new version of WP, but I’d like to know what’s going on before I “abandon blog.”

the IP you pasted goes back to them .. thats probably the IP of the box you are hosted on.

The rest of the information you provided in your first post doesn’t provide anything meaningful to me.

I’m assuming user1169322 is not your mysql login?

If it is, that’s where that is coming from.

If it’s not.. (then: I need you to answer the previous question about EXACTLY which page you are refering to when you say dashboard before I can continue)

You are running a version of wordpress that is very insecure, I’m sure you are aware of that by now.

Lastly, have you thought about contacting your host? Have you thought about looking at your database in phpmyadmin? Have you thought about checking the files inside wp-admin/ for malicious code being added to them — (the quickest way is to look at the timestamps of the files in your favorite ftp editor)?

Those are all things I would be doing.
