Support » Fixing WordPress » weird behaviour when editing widget areas

  • I don’t know if anyone else has experienced weird effects when editing widgets in side panels. If I am creating or editing a Text box then when I save changes it will randomly transmute before my eyes into a completely different widget or, worse still, vanish altogether. A five-minute job takes an hour and I have to check all the other panels in case any of their widgets have vanished or morphed into something else. Something weird seems to be going on behind the scenes. Spooky!

The theme on that website is 2010 Weaver.

Does this happen with all plugins deactivated? Have you tried using a default theme? (2013/2014)

Now that I’ve finally got that site stable I’m nervous about messing with it any more. I tried editing a different site, which uses many of the same plugins but a different theme (“Commune”), and there didn’t seem to be a problem.

No new plugins had been added since I was last editing panels without any problem, and I apply all updates as they crop up to WordPress and plugins. Do you think it’s a problem with a plugin?
