Ok, so only recently have I taken steps to check out 404 issues with my site and I've unearthed an ant hill. I easily get between 50-100 404 errors a day, and that's a lot of traffic for my site to lose (anything over 100 is a really good day for me).
Well, all of them coming in have weird additions to them. Here's an example. The link is supposed to look like this:
http://onebrightspot.com/blog/2010/01/20/my-portable-kit-a-love-triangle-between-a-camera-flash-and-softbox/
But, it comes through looking like this:
http://onebrightspot.com/blog/2010/01/20/my-portable-kit-a-love-triangle-between-a-camera-flash-and-softbox/%E2%80%9DOneBrightSpot.com
Another variation instead of the "%E2%80%9DOneBrightSpot.com" is "â€%20OneBrightSpot.com". And it's happening on URLs dating way back to 2006 all the way to earlier this year and I've never made any changes with my permalinks that would create this.
Anyone have any idea as to what is causing this?

Nothing? Anyone? I've got over 450 of these in the last 2 weeks.
You were probably hacked. I believe I recall seeing an attack with similar symptoms somewhere else in the Forums...
Have a look at these links. They contain some very useful information about cleaning up hacked WordPress installations.

Also, do a search on the forums for results containing words like "hack" or "hacked"
This is a very hot topic, because hackers are always out there trying to find new ways to make life difficult for website owners :-)
