    In the WordPress general options in the admin panel you can change the start day of the week to Sunday. Calendar will obey this setting and show Sunday as the first day of the week.

    As for the red colours, these will always be on Saturday and Sunday as they are hard-coded. You’d have to modify the code within calendar.php to effect a change here.
