    Good day,

I’ve installed a BPS plugin, activated Security Mode for root .htaccess, and after clicking on activate Security Mode for wp-admin .htaccess the website crashed giving me following error:
“Your server is running PHP version 4.4.9 but WordPress 3.6.1 requires at least 5.2.4.”
As the website and WordPress were running perfectly until now, I doubt that the problem is in PHP version.
Both front and back ends of the website are down.

I’ve accessed the ftp, and only found one .htaccess file, in the root. I deleted it from the server (saving a backup on the disk), but with no success.

Please advise, what can be done.

    Regards,

    EvgAbro

    Well, seems like problem solved:

I’ve edited .htaccess file and added “SetEnv PHP_VER 5_4” to it, to indicate what PHP version I want to be used. I then put the file in the root and in wp-admin on the server.

Add your php/php.ini handler code to BPS Custom Code so that it will be saved permanently. If/when you click the AutoMagic buttons in the future your php/php.ini handler code will always be added to your root .htaccess file.

    1. Copy your php/php.ini handler to this BPS Custom Code text box: CUSTOM CODE TOP PHP/PHP.INI HANDLER/CACHE CODE: Add php.ini handler and/or plugin cache code here

    2. Click the Save Root Custom Code button.

    3. [To Test] Go to the BPS Security Modes page and click the Create secure.htaccess File AutoMagic button and then activate Root Folder BulletProof Mode.

If your Host requires that you also add your php/php.ini handler to your wp-admin .htaccess file then add it to this BPS wp-admin Custom Code text box: CUSTOM CODE WPADMIN TOP: Add wp-admin password protection, IP whitelist allow access & miscellaneous custom code here
