• Hi,I build a website ( http://www.aicmag.com ) in bluehost with WordPress system last year. It runs well all the time. But from 2 Oct to 3 Oct I can not access my website, even Googlebot couldn’t crawl my site because they were unable to access it.

From 7 Oct the site works well again but I do not do anything adjustment and I do not know why. Today the site load very very slowly, and I can not access, neither the wordpress login page. Could you help me?

  • You can check the BlueHost error logs here:
    https://box783.bluehost.com:2083/frontend/bluehost/cptt/errors.html
Your IP should appear at the top so you can search to see whether any of the errors are related to your site.

Another place to look for possible trouble is your mysql_slow_queries folder, and you can find that here:
    https://box783.bluehost.com:2083/frontend/bluehost/filemanager/index.html?showhidden=1&dir=/public_html
That is where I have discovered things left behind by previous plugins.

To look for left-behinds crons, I use this plugin:
    http://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=WP+Crontrol

For making database backups before doing anything else, I use this:
    http://wordpress.org/plugins/search.php?q=WP-DBManager

Something else you might check is the PHP version you are running, and the BlueHost Support Techs can help with that, if necessary.

    Thank you very much!!

This happened to me too… 2 weeks ago my site was running perfectly, I haven’t touched it for ages then 2 days ago I got a notification from google telling me they had a block trawling my site, when I went to investigate the error was sorted BUT my site is now running super super slow, I am having trouble accessing anything in control panel, I can’t even run a backup to then start to really look at things.

I have checked out my host but I have another site on the same host and it is all working fine, so I’m doubtful it is that end. Both sites are also using childthemes based of the same parent theme, so again doubtful it is the theme causing a problem, although once I can do a backup I might try to reinstall this also.

I don’ think its plugins because I only had 4 plug ins on the site with 2 of which were the wordpress standard ones they include automatically..

leejosepho – did you manage to fix your issues or find anything that has helped so far?

Does anyone have any additional suggestions??

I have been spending a lot of time doing a variety of things such as I have already mentioned to reduce slow queries and remove things left behind by previous plugins, and I have been watching my bandwidth and throttling monitors at BlueHost. However, and without having kept any notes, I do have a suspicion or two that my load speeds are also at least occasionally being affected by some kind of work or upgrade or whatever else that might be going on at BlueHost.

Interesting… I’m not with BlueHost, I’m with Justhost, and my other sites on their servers are all running fine… 🙁 I guess it could still be the host, I’m working on updating everything on my site first then if its not fixed i will contact my host to talk about their end.

Will keep running through options. Open to any suggestions anyone has. If I find something that works I will post back here too.

Thank you very much for reply!

I restore the backup saved on last Month when the site runs well. Then the problem seems solved. But I still do not know what is going wrong.

Bluehost guessed that the site maybe attacked by bot, and they suggest me to add “CloudFlare” (a CDN service) that may be able to help improve the performance of your website speed, security, and reduce throttling.

    Hope it some helpful.
