Website is no longer loading, just says connecting

    Loading the site in Chrome, it does load an untitled white screen….joy….looks like the wonderful White Screen of Death.

    I tried renaming the plugins folder on the server to plugins-backup and refreshed the page but that did not resolve the issue.

    I have previously upgraded my webhosting package to I believe 512MB PHP Memory so we should be good there.

    I logged into Filezilla and renamed the plugins folder to _plugins and that did not fix it. Also renamed the themes folder to _themes and that did not fix it either.

    Any other suggestions?

    Change it back. Then try switching to the default theme automatically by renaming your current theme’s folder inside wp-content/themes and adding “-old” to the end of the folder name using FTP or whatever file management application your host provides.

    It was the theme that was causing the problem. I renamed the theme (not the entire theme folder) and it defaulted to the Twenty Eleven theme which allowed us to switch it to another theme that was working. Thx.
