While doing routine work on my site - I use Thesis, I was updating the custom_functions.php file - my site disappeared. When I go to the URL, I get a blank page: no 404, no server error, nothing. I just get the URL on the Firefox tab. I can't log in to the dashboard via /wp-admin.

I am able to connect via FTP. I created a dummy index.html file and it showed up fine.

I had something like this happen to another one of my sites; it turned out that my wp themes had gotten put into a backup folder. I moved them back out and everything was fine. This time, however, the themes are where they should be, the index.php file looks fine... everything looks fine.

    Any ideas? Please?

Sounds like a PHP error. Check the custom_functions.php file that you've been editing for errors. Your servers error logs might be able to pinpoint the error better.

    I figured it out.

I had copied one of my functions with the intention of modifying it, but I didn't modify it when I saved the file. Having two functions with the same name completely killed everything.

I deleted the duplicate function and everything's back to normal.

Now if I could just remember what I was trying to do before all this happened, I'd be in good shape.
