Several months ago, I purchased a domain name from Register.com--berkeleyobserver.com
When I recently created a WordPress site for The Berkeley Observer, BlueHost created an ugly URL for me:
I had Register.com forward anyone who typed in "berkeleyobserver.com" to the URL with the ugly name.
The problem is even though the site takes them to The Berkeley Observer, when a person clicks on story, etc--the ugly URL is still there and that's what is shared on Facebook, etc.
To attempt to fix this, I just went into WordPress, clicked on settings and then went to the "General Tab."
There, I replaced the ugly URL with: http://www.berkeleyobserver.com in both lines.
The problem now is that it's brought my entire website down and I'm starting to panic. Something majorly funky has happened to the look of the site.
When I now try to log into WP to fix it--it says I can't log into my account to do so--I'm guessing this has something to do with the changes I made in the "General Tab."
PLEASE, PLEASE someone help me.
What should I do. I wish there was a support number to call :o(
