I changed the theme on my website eatingslow.com and I got a fatal error message. After that I deleted the theme in Cpanel file manager and upgraded to WordPress 2.8 and imported the same theme again. Now my website is totally blank. Can anyone help me and suggest what to do?

Delete/replace the theme that's giving you problems via cpanel or FTP.

Blank screens are due to any one or a combination of 3 problems.

    1) Blank spaces in your wp-config.php, functions.php or a combination of both - open the files and take a look, rectify if needed and try again.

    2) Upgrading without deactivating the plugins interferes and botches the upgrade - use your ftp and rename the plugins folder, creat an empty folder with the same name and try again.

    3) Upgrading from earlier version having skipped a version or two botches up the upgrade. Files usually affected are those in the wp-admin and wp-includes - delete them and upload new ones from the same version as is currently installed.

Hopefully this should solve the problem and give you access to your blog.

True enough on the above suggestion, but did you try switching to the default or another theme before you deleted the problematic theme ?
If not try that first and your database might restore everything else.
Hopefully you can still get into your admin pages. If not type your blog address/wp-admin/ into your browser address bar and it should allow the log-in page to come up.Restoring a database from backup is easy[see wordpress.org/retsorebackup].Your host will help you via c-panel support.

You brilliant people, thank you, thank you, thank you :-) I only had to log into my admin page and from there I could change the theme. I had no idea I could get onto that page directly before, as you can hear I'm quite new at this :-)
